Reviving Patachitra heritage and building sustainable livelihoods for women artisans of Pingla village.

Sutanutir Sakhya is dedicated to uplifting marginalized women in Pingla, Naya, Paschim Midnapore through initiatives focused on design development, market linkage, and financial literacy. By equipping women with creative skills and innovative designs, we enable them to enhance their products and make them market-ready. Through market linkage programs, we connect them with larger markets to ensure fair pricing and greater reach for their work. Financial literacy sessions empower women with essential knowledge of budgeting, savings, and financial management, fostering self-reliance and economic stability. Together, these efforts aim to build sustainable livelihoods and instill confidence among the women of Pingla.

What We Do

Design Development — Training women artisans with new design techniques to make their Patachitra work contemporary and market-ready
Market Linkage — Connecting artisans directly with buyers, exhibitions, and fair-trade platforms for better pricing and wider reach
Financial Literacy — Teaching budgeting, savings, and basic financial management so women can sustain their own livelihoods
Cultural Preservation — Documenting and promoting the centuries-old Patachitra scroll-painting tradition through exhibitions and the annual Potochitrer Gaan
